Bill Rivers

Bill Rivers currently serves as Director of Infrastructure Operations in ITS at Washington State University.

Bill joined the WSU team in 2003 as the Assistant Director of the School of Molecular Biosciences. In 2008, Bill moved to Information Technology Services as a Director of IT.  In this capacity he has led multiple customer support and technology focused parts of the organization over his tenure.

Prior to WSU, Bill served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years in both the senior enlisted and officer ranks with most of his time on both fast attack and fleet ballistic missile submarines. After retirement from the U.S. Navy, Bill became a Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) and later an Information Security Analyst for US Bank, followed by several years as the Security Manager and Assistant IT Director for Columbia Management Company, a $20B mutual funds company. Bill holds various industry-recognized Information Systems audit and security certifications, as well as a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Idaho.
