Unscheduled Global Protect VPN Client Install Repair

Please see the following scheduled Information Technology Services (ITS) maintenance process:

Date: Jan. 18, 2024

The following work is being completed: Repair to an SCCM deployment that is causing the Tier 1 VPN Client to stop functioning.

All affected groups: Some Tier 1 Admin workstation users (check if you Global Protect VPN client is still functioning)

All processes affected: Tier 1 Workstation VPN service

Follow up steps customers need to take: The install creates two 6.1.2 instances of Global Protect in Programs and Features. To mitigate, remove the newer 6.1.2 (80MB) version and run a repair on the older (200MB) version. This will repair the install until the SCCM deployment is resolved.
