Biography

Dave has dedicated more than 30 years of his career to Washington State University, where he currently serves as the Director of Information Security Services and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer.

Throughout his tenure, Dave has held various positions in Information Technology, including responsibility for Mainframe Programs Products, Systems Administration for Windows and Linux environments, Network and Computer Security administration, and many other roles.

He has played a significant role in major university-wide initiatives such as MyWSU, Workday, and led projects for Jira/Confluence, Digital Measures, and EXplorance Blue, among others.

In his current role, Dave oversees several security initiatives for ITS and manages two teams: the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). He is also a member of ITS Leadership, the chair of the ITS Change Control Board (CCB), the University’s Threat Assessment Team (TAT), and the WSU Health Sciences Compliance Committee. Dave’s extensive experience and contributions have been instrumental in shaping the university’s IT landscape.
