The following work is being completed: Microsoft is retiring the Researcher feature available in the Word desktop app for Windows and macOS. Once retired, Researcher will no longer appear in the ribbon in Word.
All affected groups: WSU users that utilize the Researcher feature in the Microsoft Word desktop app.
All affected processes: Ability to research topics, find reliable sources, and add content with citations within Word’s Researcher feature.
Duration of impact: This is a permanent, Microsoft-driven change.
Necessary follow up steps: Microsoft recommends utilizing Copilot as an alternative to Researcher for assistance with document content.
