Microsoft 365

Update as of Jan. 23 at 8 a.m. —  All Microsoft 365 and email services at WSU are fully restored, and functionality is operating normally.

Update as of Jan. 22 at 4 p.m. — Microsoft has recovered most services. Email delivery may still be delayed while Microsoft completes restoration. This is the only known remaining user-facing impact for this service issue.

Update as of Jan. 22 at 2:10 p.m. — Microsoft 365 services appear to be recovering. ITS continues to troubleshoot and monitor.


ITS is aware of issues impacting features in Microsoft 365 services and admin centers that are down or degraded. This issue may impact WSU users in the following ways:

  • Sending and receiving email through Exchange Online
  • Searching within SharePoint Online and/or Microsoft OneDrive
  • Accessing the service portals
  • Creating chats, meetings, teams, channels or adding members in Microsoft Teams
  • Receiving presence or location information in Microsoft Teams

Proofpoint

Update as of Jan. 22 at 2:15 p.m. — This Proofpoint issue is now resolved. Emails impacted by this service degradation may be delayed or queued for sending.

ITS is aware of issues impacting the Proofpoint email protection service. This issue may impact WSU users in the following ways:

  • Sending and receiving email through WSU email systems

Please note that this issue is believed to be separate from the Microsoft 365 issues but the two issues are both impacting email services.
