Date: Between late-June 2025 and late-July 2025 (An exact implementation date for WSU’s Microsoft environment is unavailable.)
The following work is being completed: Microsoft will replace the option to install Microsoft 365 apps via the My Account portal with the self-service installation process currently available within the Microsoft 365 Copilot web app (formerly Office.com).
All affected groups: WSU Microsoft users
All affected processes: WSU users will no longer be able to download Microsoft 365 apps from the My Account portal.
Duration of impact: This is a permanent, Microsoft-driven change.
Necessary follow-up steps:
- Please update support documentation regarding the installation of Microsoft 365 apps to remove direct links to the My Account portal.
- Please monitor and refer users to Microsoft’s official installation guide, which will be updated as changes to the app installation process are released.
