The following work is being completed: ITS is updating Zoom to provide the ability to transition from the legacy Exchange Web Services (EWS) authentication with Office 365 (O365) to the recommended Microsoft Graph API for calendaring, contacts, and new presence status synchronization capabilities.
All affected groups: WSU Zoom users who have integrated Zoom with O365 services
All affected processes: This transition will introduce improved presence status synchronization capabilities between Zoom and Microsoft Teams. WSU users can manually reauthenticate into their Zoom accounts and enable the presence permissions to leverage this new functionality. WSU users who do not take action will retain the current EWS-based integrations for calendaring and contacts.
Duration of impact: No service outage or disruption is expected during the maintenance window.
Necessary follow-up steps: None. WSU users can opt-in to the updated Zoom and O365 integration capabilities at their own discretion by manually reauthenticating into Zoom and enabling the presence feature following the maintenance window.
Additional information: While adoption of the Graph API is not mandatory, ITS strongly recommends transitioning in preparation for the planned deprecation of EWS.
