The following work is being completed: Previous Exchange Online Protection and ProofPoint rules to prevent unauthorized senders from being allowed to relay emails have been replaced with a new configuration and the previous configuration has been deprecated. The previously added rules will be removed. Additionally, ProofPoint now recommends using both the connection filter and a transport rule to bypass Exchange Online Protection, while previously the connection filter was preferred. A transport rule would be added to bypass Exchange Online Protection for ProofPoint scanned messages.
All affected groups: WSU Exchange users
All affected processes: ProofPoint Email Firewall and Exchange Online Protection
Duration of impact: No service outage is expected, but the entire maintenance window is reserved for this work.
