Enhanced Video Support Beginning Feb. 13

Effective at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, the Crimson Service Desk (CSD) will transition to the Zoom Contact Center for all video-based customer support, including visual identity verification.

Beginning Feb. 13, remote WSU users and affiliates will visit its.wsu.edu/csd and select the new Zoom button to join a secure Zoom session with the Crimson Service Desk team. Remote identity verification will require camera-enabled mobile or desktop devices.

In-person verification is offered at the Crimson Service Desk, located in Holland 150 on the WSU Pullman campus.

CSD recently implemented visual identity verification as a requirement for all users requesting account changes, such as password resets, multi-factor authentication updates, personal email or phone number modifications, and a WSU Network ID rename. This additional layer of security significantly reduced attempts for malicious account access.

This change is part of Information Technology Services’ (ITS) broader transition to Zoom Contact Center for both phone and video customer support.

As part of this update, users may notice a new voice and updated instructions when contacting both the Crimson Service Desk and Pullman Integrated Academic Technologies (PIAT) for assistance. This updated introduction will better guide users to the appropriate support channels.

WSU users can reach IT and Pullman classroom support teams through the following contact methods:

Crimson Service Desk (General Technical Support)

Pullman Integrated Academic Technologies (University Classroom Support)

  • Email: piat@wsu.edu
  • Phone: 509-335-5044
  • In-Person: Holland 150, Pullman, WA

ITS is committed to enhancing the user experience for the WSU community while upholding the highest standards of security and privacy. We look forward to providing a more streamlined and convenient support process.
