Microsoft Imagine is now Azure Dev Tools for Teaching
The Microsoft Imagine program continues to evolve. Effective Feb. 13, 2019, the Microsoft Imagine program was renamed Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. Software previously available through the Microsoft Imagine Premium program will still be available to students who are currently enrolled in a designated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) course per the terms of the Microsoft Azure program. Microsoft Standard will also continue to be available to all WSU students, faculty, and staff through the Microsoft Azure program.
Each year, program agreements are valid from June 30 through July 1 of the following year. It is not guaranteed that the agreement will be renewed after the July 1 end date.
Students
The selection of Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formerly Microsoft Imagine Premium) software is available to WSU students who are currently enrolled in a WSU STEM course, regardless of major. When enrolled in these courses, students may download the available software to their laptop or desktop from Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. The license is a perpetual, non-commercial use license so students are allowed to use the software legally after school ends and even after they graduate as long as it is not for commercial purposes.
Faculty
Microsoft Azure software is also available to faculty who are currently teaching a WSU STEM course. Faculty may download the available software to their laptop or desktop from Microsoft Azure. Please be aware that while Azure software cannot be installed on the WSU-owned computers of individual faculty or staff, Azure software can be utilized in computer labs for lab situations to support education.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Software
Required for transferring files.
FTP Client
We recommend the current release of the secure FTP client, FileZilla. This product has a history of good support and has proven their ability to connect to the mainframe using the secure SSL FTP protocol. It also supports TLS and SSH.
FTP Server
Many FTP servers work well. We have had success with the freeware FTP server by FileZilla. FTP servers must support the SSL FTP protocol at a minimum of 128-bit encryption.
SSH-Secure Shell
If you are using a Windows system, download and install a copy of SSH client software. Several common freely available products are listed here: http://www.putty.org
For Apple, Linux, and other UNIX users, the SSH program is built-in.
