Retiring Refined Themes in Jira and Confluence, 12/18

Please see the following scheduled Information Technology Services (ITS) maintenance process:

Date: Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024

Start Time: 6 a.m.
End Time: 8 a.m.

The following work is being completed: ITS is retiring the Refined Themes license for WSU Atlassian Jira and Confluence products to ensure compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). As a result, Jira Service Desk portals and Confluence spaces will adopt a new visual interface and no longer feature existing default WSU-branded theming. This change will not affect functionality or content within any Atlassian resources.

All affected groups: WSU users who access or manage Jira Service Desk Portals or Confluence spaces

All affected processes: Jira Service Desk portals and Confluence spaces utilizing the default WSU-branded theme

Duration of impact: This is a permanent change. Jira and Confluence services will remain online during this maintenance window.

Necessary follow up steps: None

• WSU Confluence users will continue to have the ability to create and apply their own theme in their designated spaces.
