The following work is being completed: ITS will be updating Palo Alto security profiles on the Pullman campus firewalls. Critical alert actions inbound to Pullman will be changed from block (single session) to block with a 60-minute (3600 second) timeout. This change is intended to strengthen the security posture of the Pullman campus network.
All affected groups: WSU IT staff supporting Pullman campus network and security operations
All affected processes: Palo Alto security profile policy enforcement on Pullman campus firewalls
Duration of impact: No disruption to users or network services is expected as a result of this change.
Necessary follow-up steps: WSU IT staff should verify that security profiles are functioning as expected following the change and monitor for any unintended blocks.
