Information Technology Services (ITS) is performing scheduled maintenance and wireless upgrades in January 2026 that may cause temporary internet service interruptions. Please review the following details and plan ahead as needed.
Jan. 3: Network Maintenance
On Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., ITS is completing network maintenance at WSU Pullman.
Multiple network outages lasting 15 to 30 minutes may occur during this maintenance window. These outages may also temporarily impact access to services that rely on network connections from WSU Pullman, including campus Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone systems.
Because WSU Pullman network infrastructure supports systems and services across multiple campuses, this maintenance may cause university-wide interruptions.
Jan. 5 to Jan. 30: Wireless Upgrades
Update as of Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. — ITS is implementing a minor adjustment to this schedule. The following buildings will be updated during the timeframe listed below:
- Jan. 26-30: Biotechnology/Life Sciences Facility, Plant Sciences Building, and Engineering Teaching/Research Lab Building
The following work remains on schedule:
- Jan. 7-9: Veterinary and Biomedical Research Building
- Jan. 5-7: Vogel Plant Biosciences Building and Johnson Hall Annex
Throughout January 2026, ITS is upgrading wireless internet infrastructure in several WSU Pullman buildings:
- Jan. 5-7: Vogel Plant Biosciences Building and Johnson Hall Annex
- Jan. 7-9: Veterinary and Biomedical Research Building
- Jan. 20-22: Biotechnology/Life Sciences Facility
- Jan. 26-28: Plant Sciences Building
- Jan. 28-30: Engineering Teaching/Research Lab Building
On these dates, small areas within these building may experience weak wireless signals or brief wireless outages of up to 10 minutes. Wired internet connections will remain available in areas where they are already configured and active.
After each upgrade, individuals may need to reconnect to the wireless network with their WSU credentials.
This work is part of an ongoing multi-month maintenance project. Communications will be distributed as additional dates and buildings are scheduled.
