The following work is being completed: Instructure will upgrade the SCORM engine in Canvas from Rustici Engine v20 to Rustici Engine v24. The upgrade keeps the SCORM service on a supported, maintainable version and allows Instructure to add new capabilities. Rustici Software provides additional information on the Rustici Engine product page.
All affected groups: WSU Canvas instructors and course designers who add SCORM packages to their courses
All affected processes:
- Instructors will be unable to add new SCORM packages to Canvas courses during the maintenance window.
- Students can continue to open and complete SCORM modules already in their courses, and Canvas will continue to record their scores in the gradebook.
- All other Canvas features will remain available.
Duration of impact: Canvas SCORM packages imports will be unavailable for up to 14 hours.
Necessary follow-up steps: No action is required. Instructors who plan to add a SCORM package to a course may do so before or after the maintenance window.
