The following work is being completed: ITS is upgrading Palo Alto firewalls to apply security updates and bug fixes according to the following schedule:
- Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, 9 p.m.:
- Vancouver Campus
- Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, 4 a.m. to 6 a.m.:
- Pullman Campus
- Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.:
- 8 p.m. – Seattle-TierPoint
- 8 p.m. – Spokane Campus
- 9 p.m. –Tri-Cities Campus
- 9:30 p.m. –Everett Campus
All affected groups: Users at the WSU Vancouver, Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, Everett, and Seattle-TierPoint locations
All affected processes: Firewall failovers during the upgrade process may cause a one- to two-second delay in network traffic at each affected location, possibly impacting highly sensitive jobs.
Duration of impact: No outage is expected during the maintenance window. The entire maintenance window is reserved for this work.
