Gemini and Gemini Notebook at WSU

Two new Google tools are coming to WSU this October. All active faculty, staff and students will receive Gemini and Gemini Notebook licenses at no cost, opening new possibilities for learning, teaching, research, and everyday work.

Your licenses activate automatically, so there is nothing to sign up for or request. This page brings together everything you need to get started, and ITS will add new details as launch day approaches.

Key Dates

  • Monday, Oct. 12: Faculty and staff licenses activate
  • Wednesday, Oct. 14, and Thursday, Oct. 15: Virtual trainings take place for faculty and staff
  • Monday, Oct. 19: Student licenses activate
  • Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 22: The Gemini Lounge comes to WSU Pullman

The New Tools

Gemini is Google’s artificial intelligence assistant, ready to respond to your questions and requests in everyday language. Gemini Notebook works alongside your own materials, such as documents and notes, summarizing them and answering questions about their content. Together, these tools can help you draft and brainstorm, organize research, and explore ideas in fresh ways.

Signing In

Once your license activates, you can sign in to Gemini with your WSU email address and password. Multi-factor authentication applies, so keep your authentication device nearby when you sign in.

Google may also send you an external email once you receive access to these tools. That message requires no action, and you can safely disregard it.

The sign-in link will be available here soon.

Faculty and Staff

Gemini and Gemini Notebook become available on Oct. 12.

Virtual trainings on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and Thursday, Oct. 15, offer an introduction to what Gemini and Gemini Notebook can do, with sessions on getting started, grant writing, assessment design, and research.

Each session runs once per day at different times, so you can build a schedule that fits your interests and calendar. Registration is required, so browse the full training schedule below and register to save your spot.
