The following work is being completed: ITS is removing or suspending WSU Google Workspace accounts as part of a normalization initiative for the university’s Google Workspace environment. Impacted accounts meet one of the following criteria:
- Accounts that have never been accessed and contain no stored content will be removed.
- Accounts that have not been accessed in two or more years and contain no stored content will be removed.
- Accounts that have not been accessed in two or more years and contain stored content will be suspended, and the content will be archived.
All affected groups: 534 users with WSU Google Workspace accounts that meet the criteria described above
All affected processes:
- Users whose accounts are removed will no longer have access to their WSU Google Workspace account.
- Users whose accounts are suspended will no longer be able to sign in to their WSU Google Workspace account. Their stored content will be archived. Archived content will require a request through Crimson Service Desk for retrieval.
- Current WSU students or employees who require continued access to an impacted account may contact Crimson Service Desk for support.
Duration of impact: This is a permanent change.
Necessary follow-up steps:
- For End-Users: Users who are currently enrolled or employed at WSU and need continued access to their WSU Google Workspace account should contact Crimson Service Desk for additional support.
- For Support Staff: Direct users with questions about the account cleanup, requests for continued access, or requests to retrieve archived content to Crimson Service Desk for escalated support.
