Effective Sept. 8, 2026, Information Technology Services (ITS) will enable Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) for Atlassian Cloud accounts created using WSU email addresses.
As part of this change, users who have independently created Atlassian accounts with their WSU email address will be required to authenticate using their WSU credentials, including multi-factor authentication. Account profile attributes will also be managed through WSU identity systems.
Users who only access WSU-managed Atlassian systems and services using existing WSU authentication will not be affected.
To support this transition, ITS will communicate with approximately 6,000 users identified as having accounts associated with WSU email addresses in the Atlassian Cloud environment. Because of historical account creation methods and service desk integrations, some recipients may receive the communication even though no action is required.
