The following work is being completed: The classic Teams client will reach end of availability. This version of Teams will no longer be functional, and users will no longer be able work in the classic Teams client.
All affected groups: WSU users accessing the classic Teams client
All affected processes: The classic version of Teams will become inaccessible, and users will experience a non-dismissible in-app notification informing them of the end of availability.
Duration of impact: This is a permanent, Microsoft-driven change.
Necessary follow-up steps:
- Transition to New Teams Desktop App: Impacted users are encouraged to transition to the new Teams desktop application. To switch to the new Teams experience, users can enable the Try the new Teams toggle in the upper-left corner of the application on a supported device and operating system.
- Utilize New Teams Web App: Users unable to update their device to an operating system that supports the new desktop version of Teams can access the new Teams web app via a supported web browser.
