Biography

Brant Schroeder  With over 20 years of higher education information technology experience at public, land-grant universities, Brant serves as Director of Modernization over Information Technology within Business and Finance at Washington State University (WSU) while sitting on the central ITS management team. His career began at the University of Idaho, and since joining WSU in 2005, he has risen to various leadership and management positions, advancing key projects and initiatives across campus. 

As the Director of Modernization, Brant is responsible for WSU’s Workday ERP information technology systems and services and collaborates with stakeholders across the university to advance WSU’s mission, vision, and values. In addition to this role, he supports and moves forward strategic initiatives for the university. He has been recognized by the university for helping move forward project management principles across the university and inspiring others to implement better project management processes. Brant is an Atlassian Certified Expert and is well known for his knowledge of Atlassian products and regularly speaks about project management, change management, and ITSM. 

Brant is an action-oriented and decisive IT executive with two decades of unwavering success in devising and leading the execution of ultramodern solutions that streamline processes, curtail costs, elevate security, and drive customer and employee satisfaction and retention. Notably and repeatedly recognized for innovations that address complex technology issues, Brant has expertise in organizational change and setting the direction to elevate performance. 

Brant has a passion for drawing out ideas and capabilities and unifying teams through authenticity, diplomacy, a flexible work style combined with empathy, big-picture thinking, effective written and verbal communication, and shared vision. With over 10 years of executive-level experience and an impeccable history of success, Brant guides the vision, mission, strategy, planning, execution, and growth of modernization information system team.
