WSU SSL VPN – Linux procedure – step by step

This page provides instructions for how to install and connect to Cisco AnyConnect VPN client for Linux.

Once the installation is complete, you will be automatically connected to WSU’s SSL VPN. You should now see the icon, located in the system dock, indicating connection status. The icon is represented by two green dots and a gold lock: connected

Disconnecting from the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client

To disconnect from the AnyConnect VPN connection on a Linux machine:

  1. Click on the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client at Applications -> Internet -> CiscoAnyConnect Client
  2. Click on the ‘Disconnect’ button.

  3.  Alternatively, right click on the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client on the task bar and select ‘Disconnect

Reconnecting form the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client

You can reconnect to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client using two different methods:

  1. Log in at https://sslvpn.wsu.edu, click Start AnyConnect, and follow the instructions for Installing and connecting with Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client again.
  2. Opening the application: Applications -> Internet -> Cisco AnyConnect VPN

  3. Enter your Network ID and Password and click Connect

  4. By right clicking on the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client icon on your task bar and selecting Connect, and login in with your Network ID and Password
