Microsoft Office 365

Get Microsoft 365 Free
when Enrolled as a WSU Student or Active WSU Employee

*Active while enrolled as a student or as an active employee at WSU. Subscription expires upon inactive status.
*MS Access only available as part of Microsoft 365 on Windows PCs.

Enrolled WSU students and active WSU employees get a free subscription to Microsoft 365 through their WSU email account. The software is available for Mac and Windows computers. (Chromebooks use the Android version of Office and have free access by default without a subscription.)

For Students: The subscription works while you are enrolled in classes and will expire after you graduate or leave the university. The subscription starts the first day of class on the semester you start as a WSU student. (You do get your WSU email account early, but the full software subscription starts your first semester.)

For Employees: The subscription works as long as you are an active WSU employee, your employment appointment has started, and you activated your WSU email account. Your subscription expires once you are no longer an active WSU employee.

Our base subscription of Office 365 includes Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher, Access (Windows only), and Microsoft OneDrive.

OneDrive for Business

OneDrive will provide 1 terabyte of free, cloud-based, file storage for all active students, faculty and staff associated with their WSU Network ID.

Files stored on OneDrive will be available from multiple devices via the internet. They can be synchronized on local devices so that they can be used offline. The files on OneDrive can also be shared with others both inside and outside of WSU.

Eligibility

Subscriptions to OneDrive and Office 365 ProPlus are available to all current, active WSU students, faculty and staff, associated with their WSU Network ID (NID). Eligible individuals will automatically have their accounts activated starting December 19, 2016.

Office 365 ProPlus

Office 365 ProPlus provides access to Microsoft Office products for all active students, faculty, and staff on up to five PCs or Macs, five tablets, and five phones. The software available includes: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Skype for Business (plus Publisher and Access for Windows PC systems).

Office Online (same applications but they reside in the cloud as opposed to on your local device) is also available with these subscriptions, which will allow you to create and edit Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Excel documents from a browser, with access to your OneDrive storage. (The Office Online versions of these applications may not have all the advanced features of the installed applications.)
