Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is being added to Pullman and Spokane campus virtual private networks (VPN) on the dates shown below.

  • Pullman (Portal: vpn.wsu.edu) – Tues., Mar. 16 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Spokane (Portal: sslvpn.spokane.wsu.edu) – Wed., Mar. 17 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.

During implementation, there will be a VPN outage of up to 10 minutes, however the entire maintenance window is reserved for this work.

GlobalProtect, our current VPN resource, is used by faculty, staff, and students to access secure WSU data from remote work locations.

All affected groups: WSU Pullman and WSU Spokane.

All processes affected: Accessing any data that requires VPN log-in

How to VPN following MFA addition: Once MFA is in place, instead of a pop-up Global Protect log-in window, a WSU-branded log-in page will appear on your screen. After entering WSU network ID and password, users will be prompted to authenticate via multi-factor (Okta), very similar to log in for myWSU and other university resources.
